EVOLUTION WMCC – an exciting new women’s motorcycle club

Whatever your experience or riding level you’ll find a warm welcome from Evolution. Our club is run by the members for the members with everyone valued.

There will always be something happening in one of our many areas, whether it’s a social meet, ride-outs, charity events or trips away.

We encourage further training to improve your riding skills, whether it’s on-road training or instructed track days and have a number of instructors and advanced observers in the club.

If we don’t have a section near you yet, you can still be a part of the growing Evolution family.

As you can see above – you might even meet Ron Haslam as part of an Evolution trackday! For those who don’t know, Ron Haslam is a former Grand Prix motorcycle racer who won 3 World titles, 4 British Championships & rode in almost 110 GP’s.

Meet Some Of Our Members

Click on the pictures to meet some of our members and find out what they love about biking with Evolution.

Our members ride all types of bikes including scooters, tourers, sports bikes, naked bikes, cruisers – you name it, we ride it.

We have members just starting their riding journey on L-plates to more experienced IAM and RoSPA observers and motorcycle instructors.

Whatever your experience you’ll be welcome at Evolution WMCC.

Member Profile Jayne (aka Calamity!)

Jayne has been elected current chair of Evolution WMCC by the founding members of the club. She is a lover of all things motorcycle! Jayne is the epitome of calm and her warm personality and unassuming style holds us all together.

Jayne began her biking days 23 years ago on a Kawasaki AR125. She swiftly progressed to a Honda 250 and stayed very loyal to the Honda brand, only straying once for a Yamaha XJ550. To date some of her bikes have included a CB400 super four, a few CBRs and a Hornet. She currently rides a CB1000R fondly known as ‘Fergus the Hooligan’.

Jayne is an advocate of advanced riding and is a member of both IAM and ROSPA. She was an active observer with IAM until recently but has had to reduce her commitments due to her new role within the club. She still regularly attends sessions and co-ordinates extra training days including observed rides and SloMo events for Evolution WMCC.

Jayne organises and executes the most fantastic trips. Whether this is an overnighted or a full-on tour, you’ll never be lost, in desperate need for a pee or fuel, or disappointed with your bed. And while you are on a ride out or trip with Jayne you will always have a chuckle as her story telling abilities are second to none! At the end of an adventure packed day while the fun and laughter is in full swing, Jayne can be observed quietly watching from the side-lines with a big grin on her face.

She loves nothing better than being out on her bike with her friends and works hard to ensure everyone is having a great time. Her aim is always to make sure that each ride out or trip is the best one we have ever had and we appreciate this massively!

Member Profile Jaynie (aka Pingu)

Jaynie is an active member of the Solway Coast group. When she is not trucking the motorways the length and breadth of the UK she loves getting out and about on her Triumph Tiger 800.

Jaynie has a good few years experience under her belt, as she bought her first bike – a Kawasaki EH100 - way back in 1977! After a few years riding she took a break from biking. She then returned to it with a vengeance! She passed her ‘big bike’ test in 2006 and then went on to complete her advanced riding with IAM in 2017. She has had a number of different bikes over the years including a Honda CBR, Suzuki Bandit and a BMW GT.

Jaynie is very experienced at group riding and is well versed in the ‘drop off system’. She is always happy to be an active participant in ride outs and is a competent leader, marker and Tail End Charlie.

Jaynie loves ride out days, weekends away and has completed a number of European tours. She is a popular member of the club and loves to share a good laugh and a beer with the girls after a long day of adventuring! She is always up for a natter with anyone, as long as it is not after 10pm as this one is an early to bed and an early to riser!

Member Profile Rhona

Rhona met us a few years ago when she was only taking part in small local ride-outs.
Since joining the Evolution Team she has gone on to thoroughly enjoy more progressive rides. Having changed her bike from a bandit to a fab new CB1000R (loaded with trinkets fitted by our Chair Jayne) you can’t get her off it.

In 2018 Rhona covered the whole of the UK from Lands End to John o’Groats. She’s been to Europe and visited Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany so far on her bike, but in 2019 is going even further on a jaunt to the Alps and Slovenia.

Rhona is a very competent rider and passed her IAM test in 2017. She has also encouraged other members to successfully undertake advanced tuition. Rhona is also currently training to be an observer with the Dumfries IAM branch.

Rhona loves ride-outs and overnighters with Evolution WMCC as she has a fabulous sense of humour.

Member Profile Janis (aka Jeeves)

Meet Janis (aka Jeeves!)

Janis took her CBT when she was 60 and has been riding nearly 10 years now! She started out on her Honda 125 Scooter and then progressed to her full test where for the last 6 years she has ridden Suzuki Burgmans.

Janis enjoys all roads as she just loves to be out on her bike with her friends. She likes a cheeky overnight trip and has even toured Europe several times covering many thousands of miles.

She has kept the pack together for many years being a regular Tail End Charlie in the drop off system that some of our groups use so well. She is also well known for her luminous yellow high vis waterproofs - she can be difficult to miss!

She is the heart of this group with her amazing ‘I can’ attitude.

The Club is a registered member of the British Motorcyclists Federation
